Ocean Certain consortium meeting at GEOMAR in Kiel
The theme of this years annual meeting could easily have been “Dialogues in Interdisciplinarity” or “How to learn to speak the same language”.
35 participants met in Kiel, Germany, for three days representing 9 of the 11 partners.
We spent first two days on the Annual Meeting; updating one another on the progress of the different work packages on the first day, and in separate workshops focusing on integration of data between the different WPs and Consilience – or “How to speak science in one language”.
We had a wonderful, frustrating, fun, provocative, fruitful and fulfilling three days together, and came out on the other side with new understandings of one another and plans for further integration in order for our data – sourced from both natural and social sciences – to be propertly integrated in a final product.
We look forward to year three of Ocean Certain – thank you to all who participated!
